Patients with COVID-19 symptoms will not be seen at Kind Clinic locations.
All of our Kind Clinic locations are open for patient appointments. While at the clinic, patients are required to wear a mask at all times for the safety of our other patients and staff. At this time, only patients are allowed in the clinic—no additional visitors are allowed unless required due to disability or for visits requiring a guardian for consent. We are offering Kind Virtual Appointments for any follow-ups when in-person labs are not required.

COVID-19 numbers are rising in Texas, but your sexual wellness needs are essential.
As previously stated, we have shifted to telemedicine via TeleKind for most appointments. We are only seeing patients in our clinics if requested by your Kind Clinic provider for essential services. If you have scheduled an appointment, you will be notified whether it is by TeleKind or in person. We will also continue to offer limited drop-in HIV and STI testing services.

We are continuing to follow the guidance of local health officials to provide our services in the safest way possible. We will continue thorough clinic sanitation practices and will screen each patient prior to any in-person appointment. Masks are mandatory for all Kind Clinic visitors and must remain on throughout your visit. Please do not remove your mask unless directed by a staff member.
For the sake of your fellow Kind patients and our staff members, please don’t come into the clinic with cold or flu-like symptoms. If you do arrive with symptoms, we cannot treat you, and you will be asked to call your nearest urgent care or primary care provider for guidance.
Remember, those who may have underlying medical conditions may be at a higher risk for complications and it is critical that we protect frontline healthcare workers so that they can continue providing care to those who need it most.
While some COVID-19 restrictions and stay-at-home orders are being reduced by state and local governments, in order to maintain the health and safety of our patients and staff, all Kind Clinic locations will keep our current preventative measures in place until we determine it is appropriate to make a change. We are continuing to book virtual appointments via TeleKind, and limiting in-person appointments to those required by a provider.
As stated in our April 14 update, all clinical staff will continue to wear surgical masks, and visiting patients must also wear a face covering. Anyone arriving at the clinic for an appointment or for drop-in STI testing without a mask will be provided one.
At Kind Clinic, we are working with Federal, State, County and City Health Departments to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. On April 13th, 2020, Austin and Travis County extended their stay-at-home orders through May 8th, 2020. Under this new order, face masks are now required for everyone when in public and conducting essential work or activities. To ensure the utmost safety of our Austin and San Antonio locations, we will follow the Austin/Travis County guidelines and requirements.
What does this mean for our patients?
Beginning Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, all clinic staff will wear surgical masks while in the clinic. You may notice that some of our staff may be wearing fancy masks over our surgical masks. Rest assured. We are following CDC guidelines, but also trying to maintain our style and creativity as well!
For patients who are visiting one of our clinics in person, you are required to wear, at minimum, a fabric face mask. This could be a homemade mask made from materials such as a bandana or a scarf. Please note that your mask must be something that adequately covers your nose and mouth and must be worn for the duration of your visit to the clinic. If you don’t have the materials to make a face mask of your own, don’t worry – Kind Clinic staff will provide you with a mask upon arrival at the clinic.
Your Kind Clinic Family
We have transitioned the majority of our appointments to our virtual telemedicine service, TeleKind. TeleKind allows you to complete your visit from the comfort of your home by engaging with your provider via a video chat. By transitioning to virtual appointments, we can lower the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for our patients and clinic staff, while still providing our sexual wellness and health services to our communities.
If your provider feels that you need a physical examination, we will still be able to see you at one of our clinic locations. These cases include coming into the clinic for treatment, to pick up a medication, or for lab-work or testing. If your appointment has not already been rescheduled to TeleKind, you should be receiving a phone call and an email link in the coming days with instructions on how to access your TeleKind appointment. Please be sure to check your junk mailbox if you haven’t received anything or call our Patient Support Center at 1-833-WE-R-KIND (1-833-937-5463) with any questions or concerns about TeleKind.
Please be aware that for many appointment types, we will need to call you the day before your appointment to get some basic information prior to your visit. Those calls will come from 512-853-9547.
If you have received HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) injections in the clinic:
We have not previously required appointments for drop-in injection visits. We will now schedule these visits in advance and will only offer injections at our North Austin location.

As an alternative to coming to the clinic, all current patients are recommended to use our TeleKind virtual service as an alternative if you are unable to make it to our clinic to continue receiving care. Established patients can schedule new appointments or reschedule your existing clinic appointment to a TeleKind appointment by calling us at 1-833-WE-R-KIND (1-833-937-5463).
If you are currently in a self-quarantine, we partner with pharmacies who can mail your prescriptions, or we recommend you ask a friend or family member to pick up your prescriptions and leave them at your door. Please reach out to your pharmacy about getting your prescriptions by mail, and feel free to reach out to our advocate team with any difficulties or questions.
