Kind Clinic, a Texas Health Action program, is excited to announce the launch of TeleKind, Austin’s first telehealth service offering quality sexual healthcare to patients through convenient and confidential video chat on a mobile device or computer.
Project HOT has subcontracted the Kind Clinic, a program of Texas Health Action (THA), to deliver Truvada, for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), at little to no cost to all who would benefit from this highly effective HIV prevention method. This partnership will help impact HIV incidence in Bexar and surrounding counties. This inter-city venture between Project HOT and Kind Clinic enables an exciting exchange of best practices to not only deliver biomedical prevention strategies (PrEP), but also to promote sexual health throughout the region, thus becoming a testament to shared values of respect, inclusivity, innovation, and services for everyone.
Today is Doctor’s Day and for those affected by HIV and those who work in sexual health, it’s especially important. It’s a day to remember and honor the efforts of the doctors who led the fight to keep our friends and family alive at the peak of a devastating epidemic. Some of those doctors continue that fight through research and knowledgeable HIV care, today, and we are fortunate to work alongside two of the country’s finest.
Texas Health Action announces Christopher Hamilton as its first CEO. Hamilton will guide the growth and development of THA and its mission of promoting and advocating for sexual wellness by empowering the entire community through healthcare, education and research, as well as its specialized programs like Kind Clinic.
