Christopher Hamilton's Statement on the 2026 Texas Election
Building a stronger, more accessible healthcare system requires both imagination and action. With a new field of possibilities, and recognizing that meaningful change will take time, Texans have made it clear that it is time to look toward new leadership and a renewed focus on access to healthcare across the state, for all Texans.
LGBTQIA+ Texans and people impacted by HIV deserve care that reflects their experiences and is built for them. For years, patients and communities across Texas have shown us the value this care holds in their lives. They have helped build Kind Clinic and Waterloo Counseling Center into places where people are seen, respected, and supported. We remain committed to the people who have trusted us with their care and to those who are still looking for a place where they belong.
We will not leave the future of this care to chance, any single election outcome, or the whim of whoever is in office. We will continue working with our patients, partners, providers, policymakers, and communities while taking the steps needed to help define our own future and make care sustainable across Texas.
