Other Volunteer Opportunities

Intern with Us

Official internships and externships are only available to students who have a signed agreement between Texas Health Action and the educational institution they attend. As each degree or program is unique, intern/extern roles differ and should be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Clinical and administrative volunteer roles are similar to internships/externships as they provide more in-depth training, similar to our staff members. Example of clinical and administrative volunteer tasks/settings include: reception, laboratory, data entry, and HIV testing. These roles require additional steps to apply and become accepted before beginning.

The Buddy Program is a volunteer opportunity to assist someone that is recently diagnosed to be living with HIV. A Buddy is someone that has been living with HIV for 3 years or more. They are a peer support system for their patients and can provide guidance and support in a practical and personal way. This role requires additional steps to apply and become accepted before training.

Krew Mates is our newest volunteer opportunity, encouraging couples, best friends, and groups to volunteer together. This initiative harnesses the power of shared experiences and the motivation that comes from working alongside loved ones. By volunteering as a team, Krew Mates contribute to our mission while also strengthening their relationships, deepening connections, and creating lasting memories.
