“Five years ago, a small team of passionate community members and medical providers combined forces to open Austin’s first stand-alone PrEP clinic. You came together with us to address our community’s sexual health needs, and together, we have been able to make amazing things happen. With your support we can continue to respond to sexual health needs in more communities.
Since 2015, we have:
- Opened four Kind Clinic locations
- Served over 10,800 people
- Prescribed PrEP to more than 5,200 people
- Performed more than 28,000 HIV tests
- Suppressed HIV to undetectable levels in 94% of our ongoing HIV+ patients
- Provided gender-affirming care to more than 1,800 people
- Trained more than 28 future physicians through residency programs

Kind Clinic Timeline from 2015 – 2020
Much more is still to come as we look to the future of sexual health. Next year, Waterloo Counseling Center will officially become a program of Texas Health Action alongside Kind Clinic. Our next clinics will incorporate on-site pharmacies and be ready for advancements in injectable and implantable treatments. Our medical residency programs will expand to train a growing number of physicians in competent and affirming psychiatric, family medicine, and HIV specialty care.
