On December 1st, 2023, Kind Clinic is hosting its 2nd annual Rock the Ribbon event to mark World AIDS Day. We remember lives lost to the virus and celebrate progress in ending the epidemic. We’re committed to ensuring access to resources for all Texans.
The event coincides with ongoing threats to the LGBTQIA+ community, including violence, limited access to care, stigma, and political and physical attacks. These challenges not only affect daily life but also limit our access to quality health care.
These attacks disproportionately impact specific LGBTQIA+ communities and exacerbate existing disparities in care for Black & Brown men who have sex with men, Trans and gender expansive communities, and Black women. To end the epidemic, we must address these disparities, working collaboratively with affected communities through a lens of Health Justice.
For 35 years, World AIDS Day has been a call to action. It urges communities to access sexual health resources without stigma, encourages organizations to address disparities, and calls on governments to fund preventative measures. This year, join Kind Clinic and Avita Pharmacy in Rocking the Ribbon and fighting HIV by taking charge of your sexual health, and fostering open conversations about HIV/STIs. Together, we can work towards a world without HIV.
