Support from the Nomi Health Foundation
At Kind Clinic, we believe in meeting people where they are—because access to affirming sexual health care should never be a barrier. We are excited to announce the expansion of our Community Health Program with the addition of a new mobile testing unit in Dallas, made possible by the generous support of the Nomi Health Foundation.
“Nomi Health and the Nomi Health Foundation are committed to improving the health of everyone in our communities. We are so excited to be able to provide Kind Clinic with a mobile testing van, helping them expand their important work to more people in Texas. Kind Clinic has an amazing reputation for providing necessary health services to thousands each year – we are proud to support their mission.”

Building on a Strong Foundation of Community Health
This marks Kind Clinic’s second mobile testing unit in Texas, following our Austin-based unit, and represents a significant step in expanding STI and HIV testing. The new mobile unit will allow our team to reach more people in need, providing free testing to Dallas residents and connecting them to critical sexual health services, including PrEP for HIV prevention and HIV care for newly diagnosed individuals.
“Kind Clinic strives to overcome barriers to high quality sexual health services by offering many different ways to access those services, like our new mobile testing unit,” said Christopher Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of Texas Health Action. “Transportation to appointments is often a barrier. With our new mobile testing unit, we’re coming to meet people where they are.”

Addressing Health Disparities in Dallas
The mobile testing expansion in Dallas follows the successful opening of a walk-in testing clinic in San Antonio in 2024. With this, Kind Clinic continues to strengthen its community-driven approach to STI and HIV testing, ensuring that everyone, regardless of income, insurance status, or background, has access to vital healthcare services.
“Dallas has one of the highest rates of new HIV diagnoses in Texas, and yet, barriers to care persist. Expanding our mobile testing efforts here ensures that more people–especially those in marginalized communities–have access to free, affirming testing services and the care they deserve.”
— Steven Tamayo, Director of Community Health, Kind Clinic
The new Kind Clinic Dallas mobile testing unit will be on the road starting in March 2025, with regular testing events to be announced soon.
