Kind Clinic sees patients regardless of insurance status, and we may be able to offer financial assistance with your medications prescribed by our office. But, if you recently lost your insurance, you may be worried about accessing health care beyond your sexual wellness.
As always, if you lose your insurance, get new insurance, or your insurance coverage changes, please contact your Patient Advocate right away to ensure you continue to receive your medication. If you are struggling with medication copays, please reach out to us – assistance may be available.

If you have lost health insurance through a job in the past 60 days, or expect to lose health insurance through a job in the next 60 days, you qualify for a special enrollment period and can purchase health insurance from the ACA Marketplace outside of the normal Open Enrollment period.
You can look into purchasing insurance through the ACA Marketplace at Healthcare.gov
You also qualify for a special open enrollment period if you have recently moved to a different zip code, been released from incarceration, had a baby, gotten married, or gained eligible immigration status.
Depending on your income, you may qualify for a subsidy to reduce the cost of your monthly insurance premium. The organizations below can help you find the ACA Marketplace plan that works best for you and can help you find out if you qualify for a subsidy to reduce the cost of your monthly insurance premium. They can also help you find out if you or your children are eligible for Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
The Medical Access Program (MAP) is an assistance program for uninsured residents of Travis county. Medical services and medications are offered at low or no cost, based on your household income. MAP is accepted at providers including CommUnity Care, El Buen Samaritano, Lone Star Circle of Care, and People’s Community Clinic.

Foundation Communities offers ACA Marketplace enrollment assistance to Texas residents for free. There is no income or geographic restrictions for these services. Foundation Communities can also help Travis County residents find out if they are eligible for MAP.

CareLink is an assistance program that offers a sliding scale monthly payment plan to San Antonio or Bexar County residents, based on your household income. CareLink is accepted at Centro Med and University Health Systems locations.

EnrollSA offers ACA Marketplace enrollment assistance to residents of San Antonio and surrounding areas for free. EnrollSA is a program of CentroMed, a community health clinic with more than 20 locations in the San Antonio area.

If you are losing health insurance that is offering COBRA continuation coverage, PrideLife can help you compare the COBRA coverage to ACA Marketplace plans and choose the best option for you.
