We are happy to announce, as of December 15, 2016, the arrival of our new Executive Assistant, Bret Beene. Bret will be providing support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors to help produce even more efficiency in a quickly growing organization.
Bret moved to the Austin area in 2005 to attend Texas State University, where he graduated with a BA in English and Theatre. After two years as the Executive Assistant to an entrepreneur and university professor, he joined the non-profit sector as an Account Manager and Professional Development Trainer for an employee assistance program. Most recently he worked with Texas HIV Connection as a Training Specialist, training HEI Case Managers andOutreach workers across the state of Texas.
In addition to his professional experience, Bret has moonlighted since 2010 a performer, fundraiser and advocate under the pseudonym, Pannica Tack. As Pannica, Bret has raised funds and awareness for countless organizations in Austin and across the county like: Project Tranistions, Inc., Wright House Wellness Center, AIDS Services of Austin, OutYouth, PFLAG and of course, Austin PrEP Access Project. Bret is thrilled to be working with the PrEP clinic and looks forward to meeting everyone to work together to increase access to PrEP and sexual health services within Austin.
